Description
From the end of Keystone Trail, you break out of the woods and into open meadow above Shadow Lake. This is a common area for moose sightings - don't get too close to a mother moose - they're mean and seriously dangerous! The trail climbs a bit more steeply until you come to an intersection. There may be a trail here indicating Shadow Lake Trail goes straight up a very steep, loose, and unappealing trail. Instead go right on easier ground for 200 yards until you hit a dirt road. Turn left and you'll end up at the same place: the major intersection of the Wasatch Crest Trail.
