Point to Point
This trail is an open, but seldom used, dirt road, also known as J. E. Miller Road, that extends from Laurel Summit Road to the intersection with Silvermine but is gated just beyond. Beyond the gate the trail is a more distinctly doubletrack with grass down the middle.
Part way between the gate and Bobcat Trail is a link connecting this trail to the Wolf Rocks Trail, which would allow you to hike the easier middle section of Wolf Rocks Trail in combination with Spruce Flats Trail rather than the road. If Wolf Rocks Trail is your sole destination, there is a parking area adjacent to the beginning intersection. If you are using this trail to access the south segment of Black Bear Trail, the intersection there is indistinct.
This trail also provides access to the only designated State Forest campsite (#1) in the Park. Reservation info can be found at http://www.apps.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/camping/forbes.aspx .
