Blacktail Rocks to Roundtop Mountain Route

From the peak of Blacktail Rocks, take a look at the game trails in the distance for your planned route, take a deep breath knowing the plunge to the saddle is your return route. Head to the saddle following the game trail (a trail that abruptly begins and ends). Climb out of the windswept saddle in a counterclockwise direction, heading to the ridgelines where there are well set game trails, also frequented by hikers. Some areas will require navigating over spongy moss when wet, and crunchy moss when dry after the game trails disappear. There is no water on this route, although lingering snowbanks may supplement your water supply.
