Description
The Cannon Valley Trail is a rail trail that follows the Chicago Great Western Railroad from Cannon Falls to Redwing MN. This trail is popular with bikers on day trips between the two towns. Along the trail lays a diverse assortment of environments. Limestone cliffs covered in a thick layer of lichen and ferns carpeting the forest floor can be found shortly after departing Cannon Falls. Closer to Redwing you'll find wetlands to the north and prairie land to the south between spans of hardwood forest.
