Loop
This route through Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary begins at the nature center on Eliot Street in Natick. From the trailhead, follow Indian Brook Trail a short distance before turning left onto the All Persons Trail boardwalk. Continue across two more boardwalks, then turn left onto Marsh Trail near intersection 3. This section skirts the edge of Mill Pond and leads through quiet wetlands with frequent wildlife activity. At the next junction, turn left onto Boundary Trail and follow it around the north side of Wildlife Pond.
When you reach South Street, turn left and quickly make a right onto Charles River Trail. This path winds through mature forest and along the riverbank before looping back to South Street. Turn left again for a short stretch, then right onto Glacial Hill Trail. Continue past several junctions until reaching intersection 12, where you'll turn right onto an unnamed trail segment that reconnects with the All Persons Trail near the nature center. Trail conditions vary seasonally, with slick boardwalks and muddy sections possible in spring and winter. A day-use fee is required for entry, and dogs are not permitted. This is one of the best day hikes near Boston for spotting turtles, wood ducks, and herons along peaceful, well-marked trails.
