The Canyon Vista Trail begins near the eastern edge of Worlds End State Park near the campground, accessible via park and forest roads. This blue-blazed route forms a moderately challenging route through a mix of second-growth and old-growth hardwood forest within the larger Loyalsock State Forest. From the trailhead, follow the route in either direction — it climbs steadily through wooded ridges before reaching the Canyon Vista overlook. This high-elevation viewpoint offers sweeping views into the gorge carved by Loyalsock Creek far below.
Just beyond the overlook, hikers can explore a nearby Rock Garden — a maze of massive boulders and Pottsville Formation rock features. The terrain can be steep and rocky in sections, especially near the climb to the vista, so sturdy footwear is recommended year-round. While the trail does not include direct creek access, the overlook provides one of the best vantage points of the gorge in the Endless Mountains region. For hikers seeking scenic, half-day hikes in Worlds End State Park, this route delivers standout views with a touch of rugged adventure.
