This route begins near Dunmore Reservoir No. 1, accessed from Tigue Street just outside of Dunmore, Pennsylvania. From the trailhead, follow the gated continuation of Tigue Street uphill. Stay to the right at the initial junction to remain on the main trail heading toward the overlook. The path climbs gradually through the forested Dunmore Pine Barrens before steepening on the final approach to the rocky vista. From the top, expansive views stretch across the valley below, giving the sense of standing above it all.
After enjoying the overlook, retrace your steps briefly, then either return the way you came or continue east along the ridgeline. Stay left at the next junction and remaining junctions to complete the return to the trailhead. The trail crosses privately owned land shared with ATVs and dirt bikes, so hikers should stay alert and wear visible clothing. Some intersections are unmarked, and signage may be inconsistent—GPS navigation is recommended. While there are no reliable water sources, the nearby reservoir adds scenic value. This moderate route offers a rewarding payoff with panoramic forest views and a quiet sense of elevation above the valley floor.
