Description
Roadside Ruin is a very short, and very easy trail located in the Needles District of Canyonlands. Unlike most of the Needles District, this hike is accessible by any vehicle. It is a good one to stretch your legs, or if you have never seen any native ruins, but I thought it was pretty anti-climatic. There are booklets at the start with info about the numbered kiosks along the way. The kiosks teach you about how the natives used the different plants and land to survive in such a hostile environment. The whole hike makes a loop with classic desert scenery. Far in the distance you can see Grandview Point. You will soon come to the small granary that held seeds for the natives hundreds of years ago.
