There and Back
The Bonneville Shoreline Trail sits along the base of the Bear River Mountains. The name comes from the ancient Lake Bonneville that used to fill the floor of Cache Valley. The Bear Rivers used to be the shoreline of that lake so this trail follows an ancient shoreline. The trail is a very easy trail to hike or even take your dog for a walk. The elevation gain is minimal and doable for families of all ages. The trail provides views of Logan and the surrounding Cache Valley the entire way. There are many benches along the trail for resting. The trail is used by many bikers as well as hikers too so be aware of approaching traffic. This trail can be started from two different points. One from the entrance to Green Canyon and the other side is at the start of Logan Canyon. The Logan Canyon side has a brief but steep portion as it starts down by the Logan River. Although you must switch back up to the trail, this section provides some nice views of the entrance Logan Canyon.
