Hoop Lake - FS 80078

This trail runs from the Wyoming state line to Hoop Lake, passing by Hole in the Rock, which is easily viewed from the road as you approach from the North. This trail is well-maintained and stays 2 vehicles wide throughout the trail, with only some shallow ruts and small rocks in the trail. This trail has some unique views as it passes by Hole in the Rock and follows a steep canyon down to Hoop Lake. This trail is open to all motorized vehicles and does not have a seasonal closure, but may be impassable due to snow during the winter and early spring months. The area North of the Narrows at Hole in the Rock is entirely private property with a Forest Service easement, meaning that from Hole in the Rock North you must stay on the trail, as any roads branching off are likely private roads.
