Hickerson Park-Birch Creek - FS 10221

This trail runs from the end of Dagget County Road 1 Southeast to the Sheep Creek Geologic Loop near Flaming Gorge. This trail is a well-maintained gravel road that remains wide enough for vehicles to pass each other comfortably throughout. The only obstacle on the trail is a one-lane bridge at the top of a hill that blocks the view of opposing traffic and has signage, and it should be approached with caution. This trail is scenic as it passes through the forest, with the Northwest end of the trail starting by climbing up a canyon before it reaches the top and levels out, heading towards Flaming Gorge, only crossing small hills and gradually dropping in elevation. This trail is open to all vehicles and does not have a seasonal closure date, but will be impassable due to snow during the winter and early spring.
