Trail Overview

Trail KC9 is an out-and-back trail with a low-hanging natural gas transmission pipe that passes over the trail. The pipe swoops down off of a rock cliff at a steep angle and contacts the ground again at the trail's shoulder. There is a relatively deep mud puddle approximately 30 feet long in the area of the trail that passes under the pipe. The rest of the trail is relatively flat; however, there are numerous ruts and a few other mud holes, though the one at the pipe is typically the deepest of them. The trail dead-ends at a wide, clear area large enough to turn around comfortably.
