Trail Overview

BM 56 is a 1.1-mile technical OHV route best suited for experienced riders. It starts on the west end with embedded rock and scattered boulders forming 1-foot shelves right in the main line. The trail is a narrow, shelfy path carved into the hillside, descending steadily as it winds east. Expect deep, loose ruts--some up to a foot deep--and steep, rocky sections with layered ledges and minimal traction, especially in wet conditions. Tight, troughed-out switchbacks and loose rock throughout make this a steep and technical downhill challenge.

Difficulty

This is an advanced route because it has steep rocky loose hills and descents, plus rock shelf obstacles that are about 2 feet tall. Note that this is considered Most Difficult by Hatfield McCoy's rating system.
