Trail Overview

This is a forest road in the Gauley Ranger District of Monongahela National Forest that is out and back, as it is signed as being closed and "Authorized Vehicles Only" at the south end. It's a pleasant, scenic drive from the Highland Scenic Highway - Route 39 up to almost 4200 feet. It follows Bear Run, and there appear to be decent fishing opportunities here based on the local fishermen parked along the relatively wide graded gravel road. There appears to be one place that has been used for dispersed camping at the hairpin about midway through the route. Look out for deer on this Forest Service road.
