Trail Overview

This trail will bring you along the powerlines on the Vermont side of Moore Reservoir. This trail is mainly made up of gravel roads with water bars, ascents, and descents. There are many many offshoots all along the way, from mild to wild. Following the main trail can be done by most AWD vehicles with ground clearance when the road has been maintained recently. The last climb up to the "Top of the World" is where it could get tricky if you don't have a 4WD vehicle when washed out. It's not uncommon to see groups of ATVs and SxSs when up here on a nice day. Once at the top, you are greeted with a great view looking over Moore Reservoir towards New Hampshire.

Difficulty

The road is mostly a maintained gravel road but can get washed out on the steeper climbs. Scattered along the route are water bars that could catch the bumper of a vehicle without much ground clearance.

Still obstructed looks like it may be some time time before it's fixed permanently, there was some construction equipment present near by so the work is underway. It is passable just not for my van or the skill level I have.

Trail Status Update: • Initial Washout: Still present, but bypassable to the right of the obstruction. • Vehicle Requirements: Must have 4x4 and adequate ground clearance. • Caution: After the bypass, there is large, loose, and unstable material. Navigate carefully. • Trail Beyond First Washout: Contains several additional washouts. Proceed with caution. • End of Trail: Impassable due to a large washout near the end. Unable to reach the terminus.

Washed out about at the halfway point, still some good views and a cool old cemetery along the way. There’s a bunch of trails that connect off of this and many are legal to be on and range from greens to blacks

Definitely still showing evidence from the washouts. We didn’t make it to the top but still found a nice view of the reservoir.

There was a nasty storm that washed away so much of the trail you just can’t get there. I also tried 5 other roads that would get me there but they were washed away also. There are many equipment operators out there trying to get this mess fixed.
