Trail Ridge - FS 50004

This short out-and-back trail branches off Skyline Drive and follows Trail Ridge east to a viewpoint at the end of the ridge. This trail is easy, as it follows the ridge with only some shallow ruts and small rocks scattered throughout, with the trail becoming steeper towards the end. This trail stays out in the open across the ridge, providing some small views as you travel the trail, with the viewpoint at the end of the trail making the road well worth traveling, as it allows you to park and walk out of the trees and view up and down the canyon at the end of the ridge. This trail is open to all vehicles and has no set seasonal closure date, but will be impassable due to deep snow from November through July most years.
