Trail Overview

This is an out-and-back trail. It originally went all the way to Sulphur Springs and the San Rafael River. You now have to hike the rest of the way, about another 3 miles. They closed the road and created the Mexican Mountain Wilderness in 2019. There are some great views at the end.

This trail is moderately easy, but limited use can leave the surface rough and uneven in places.

The rest of the trail was closed when they signed the John Dingle Act.
