Trail Overview

Take this route from the Golden Spike Auto Tour Trail, and it will lead you to the Spiral Jetty. Not much of a challenge, but a great afternoon cruise with some great views of the surrounding mountains and the Great Salt Lake. There is a visitor center on the way, but this is a remote trail. Cell Service is nearly none, and there are no services around so come prepared!

Difficulty

This trail has lots of ruts and washboards. It can be fairly muddy after snow or rain, so keep an eye on the forecast.

History

Spiral Jetty was made by Robert Smithson in 1970.

Lots of washboards especially the last couple of miles. Beautiful view of the sunset

Some rutted out areas of the road. The last 4 miles headed toward Spiral Jetty is horribly aggressive washboard roads. Be careful to not blow shocks or pop tires.
