Trail Overview

This is a smooth, well-maintained road spring through fall with gentle grades. The road will drift and be mostly impassable in the winter. Depending on which way you travel the loop, the route will begin or end with Vernon Reservoir, which is stocked with trout and offers shore fishing or fishing with non-motorized watercraft. Vernon Reservoir also offers about a dozen pavilions with firepits and non-flushing restrooms.

Difficulty

Although the road is well-maintained and has minor rocks and debris, parts of the road are silty and have clay material that is very slippery and mucky when it is wet.

Entire trail was muddy but I wasn’t causing any ruts. The mud and snow started at the end of the eastern edge straightaway as you head west and doesn’t let up u til you’re done with the trail. No real snow depth but it was slick as could be and mud was flying, recommend airing down for safety.
