Trail Overview

Here, fishy fishy! If you like to fish, where no one else is fishing, this is an amazing place to find the river without the crowds. The trail goes west from the Papa Bear trail, and you drop down in between the hills, weaving through the draws, to the river. We saw deer in here, and while at the river, we saw a bald eagle land at its nest way up high on the rock cliff across the river. Very cool. You go through a part of the Wildlife Management Area, and the day we rode it, the gates were open. The flowers and the cactus were in full bloom. Simply beautiful! In February of 2023, Utah began enforcement of a new law, which requires an online education course for all off-roaders. The free course is available online. Google "Utah OHV Education Course," and the free test will pop up. It's an easy test that will only take 15-30 minutes, and it's required for all off-roaders, Jeeps, SXSs, dirt bikes, and ATVs. Kids under the age of 18 will have to take the Youth Education Test at the same site. After completing the test, print out the certificate to carry with you which shows you completed the course. We have taken it, and it's really no big deal. Good reminders about trail etiquette and trail preservation.

Difficulty

During a heavy rain, this trail may have water running down it to the river. In the early spring, the river may be too high for the loop at the bottom of the trail, or it may not be accessible at all.
