This route is a well-maintained gravel road that provides an easy and straightforward drive with no major obstacles along the way. The road remains two vehicles wide for the entire route, making passing and meeting oncoming traffic simple in most areas. Just beyond the natural gas facility, the surface changes from gravel to asphalt, creating an even smoother drive as you continue toward the interstate. Scenic views of the surrounding desert landscape, mesas, and open country are available throughout the route, making it more than just a simple connector road. Several dispersed camping opportunities can also be found nearby for those looking to spend extra time in the area. This road offers convenient access to Interstate 70, and if you continue beyond the interstate, it will take you into Thompson Springs, where fuel, supplies, and groceries may be available.
