Trail Overview

Rock Spring is a 4.5-mile route that connects the majority of the single-track trails in the Payson/My Nebo area. This trail runs West to East, starting at FR 70014 (dirt road) and ending at FR 015 (paved road). The beginning can be difficult to spot, since it drops downhill from the forest road. This track crosses through fields and intermittent sections of woods. The ground surface is loose and packed dirt, with sparse golfball-sized free rocks. There is one 'rock garden' section that lasts a couple hundred feet. It consists of embedded baseball-to-golfball-sized rocks that aren't difficult. There are no other obstacles.

Awesome conditions. A little dusty, but normal for Utah. Super fun trail, just enough rocks, roots, and inclines to be fun but not difficult. Definitely an intermediate trail, or advanced beginner.

There is a half mile section just past the first intersection when traveling west that is squarely an intermediate difficulty. There are many unavoidable drops due to large exposed rock. Inexperienced or young riders traveling east (uphill) will need to walk their bikes with some difficulty.
