Trail Overview
This single track is a very technical trail full of advanced rock ledge obstacles on red sandstone rock formations. This whole trail is in the Open Riding Area. The south end starts near the top of Dealership Draw right on the rim of the mesa on a narrow trail. It goes up and down many rock-ledge obstacles throughout the trail that are big rock layers, drop-offs, sometimes off-camber, and exposed. It keeps going up the different rock layers to get you farther on top of the mesa or goes right along the rim. You can't be scared of heights for this trail as there is lots of exposure here, but epic views out over the valley. The trail goes along cool red rock sandstone formations that are very typical of Sand Mountain, going between the boulders and right next to them. There are some cairns throughout the trail, and sometimes spray-painted lines to help show directions, but it's helpful to have a GPS track because it's hard to find the next cairn up the next layer of rock. Sometimes the spray paint indicates two options of varying difficulty. The trail goes up some huge slabs of sandstone that are like a ramp, has big drop-offs, and has tight curves on the mesa as the trail brings you between the formations. There are some narrow spots as it gets onto the next layer of the mesa. If up for the challenge, this is a really neat advanced trail that feels like you are riding around Mars.
