Trail Overview

Pit & Page S (FR 83135) provides access to the peak of Pitt & Page Hill (10,230 feet). The trek is incredibly rocky through ponderosa and lodgepole pines, but the relatively high elevation will provide some spectacular views. The rocky ground may make finding a suitable campsite a challenge, but it may be worth the effort for stargazers.

Difficulty

Overall, the trail is incredibly rocky, but less so on the west side. The east side has a very steep incline with large rocks and a little twist of the trail all at the same time, which offers a challenge. You may require lockers or some form of traction control such as crawl control or A-Trac.

The trail was pretty rocky almost to the point of not being enjoyable. There were a few super rocky climbs that were difficult but I managed them on my xt225.

Top of trail still blocked by deep snow. Probably a couple more weeks to melt to a point to make it through.
