Trail Overview

This is the tale of two trails. On the northeast end, the trail is somewhat narrow and lined by mature sagebrush that will definitely leave marks on wider vehicles. You will continue southwest toward the Lafever Cabin. This is an interesting old herder/hunting cabin with corrals. If you came up using Buckskin, this is a great place to stop for lunch. The surrounding mountains have some interesting marks showing where waterfalls will appear during the heavy rains--when you do not want to be here. The track then proceeds to drop you into the Park Wash. This is a large wash that has been totally transformed over the last couple of years. This transformation should serve as a loud warning to anyone that explores this area that during severe thunderstorms, walls of water can come down these washes. You do not want to be in these washes any time there is inclement weather anywhere in the region. The wash used to be smooth with deep sand and really fun to run. It has been transformed into a rougher hard sand area with small rivulets that require some attention to navigate. There is also a new rock formation that has appeared, requiring attention to traverse. Keep your eyes out for hoodoos and other distinctive rock formations along the wash.

Fun ride through the wash but had to turn around due to a narrow section we could not squeeze/maneuver through. Took the trail through the Paria-Hackberry Wilderness Study area and had a great ride. Trail is smooth, sandy, twisty, up and down. Great trail for a level 2 to 4 rider. Nothing too challenging.
