Trail Overview

The Orange Trail is a moderate desert single track that has a wide variety of terrain and difficulty. Some easier sections are smooth dirt single tracks that wind under or along the mesas and are more fast and flowy. There are some more intermediate sections of loose dirt rock, and also lots of slab rock and moderate rock ledges that are more difficult obstacles. The Orange Trail is easier than the 5 miles of Hell and the Red Trail, and is a fun trail to do after completing both of those harder trails in order to make a fun day loop. The trail also has sections of smooth sandy wash and washes mixed in with rock slabs. There are a couple of rock ledge obstacles that are a 4 or 5 difficulty but the rest of the trail is a 3 or 4. There are also lots of whoops on this trail in sections because this is a pretty popular riding area. The trail is marked with trail signs at every intersection and is easy to follow. It can be easy to miss when the trail exits the wash, but you can mostly follow the tracks in the sandy wash when the wash splits. It intersects with the Green Trail about halfway through, which you can take as an easy bail out back to Temple Mountain Road. This is a super fun trail to ride in combination with the other trails in the area, as it goes through a beautiful desert landscape full of mesas and canyons. Riding this area is like going to Moab, but you get to ride a single track instead of jeep roads, which is pretty unique.
