Trail Overview

This is an easy gravel road that runs between Mirror Lake Highway and Meeks Cabin Reservoir. The road is two vehicles wide for the whole trail and is well maintained with no obstacles other than some washboard that you will need to watch for. The road is scenic and has many side trails that you can run that branch off of this road. This road can get very busy during the weekends and holidays, so it can be pretty dusty, and you'll need to be sure to be careful around the corners. This road is open from May 1st to December 15th, but up over Elizabeth Ridge may be closed longer due to lingering snow. 4.1 miles from the gate on the Wyoming side, there is a ghost town known as Blacks Fork on the West side of the road that is on private property, but people are allowed to visit. There will be a small parking area just off the side of the road with rocks preventing travel off the trail. If you choose to stop and visit, please be respectful of the ghost town and don't cause any further damage to the buildings.

Trail is closed still for fire crews they are still cleaning up if you happen to enter this area through an area with no sign I would say leave. We did this and then ran into a sheriff who said we would have to leave but he did say it should be open in about a week.
