Trail Overview
Meadow Valley is an easy 18.1-mile point-to-point offroad route connecting Utah State Route 56 on the east to Utah State Route 18 on the west. The well-maintained, unpaved road winds between the Pine Valley and Bull Valley mountains. The landscape transitions from wide sagebrush flats on the east to rolling wooded hills, lush valleys, and scenic meadows on the west.
With a technical difficulty rating of 1, the route is suitable for high-clearance 2WD and 4WD vehicles. Beyond occasional mud after wet weather, the trail is generally flat and easy to navigate. Along the way, the route passes near Cove Mountain and the historic Page Ranch, a pioneer homestead established in 1858.
History
Page Ranch was homesteaded by Mormon pioneer Robert Ritchie in 1858. The property was later passed to his grandson, Dan Page, in 1890. Dan and his wife Sophia commissioned the building of the ranch house in 1898, and it was completed in December of 1900.
Access Description
The route is a well-maintained, unpaved two-lane road. It has a technical difficulty rating of 1 and is accessible to high-clearance two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles equipped with good all-terrain tires. Wet weather can occasionally create muddy conditions along the route.
