Trail Overview

This is a technical, enjoyable, and beautiful trail that takes you along the eastern crest of Lake Mountain with stunning 360-degree views almost the entire way. It can be run in either direction. There's more technical rock crawling on the southern end, so you'll want to decide if you'd rather go up or down them. Some of the sections are rather steep. There are multiple radio towers along the way. The difficulty rating is based on the rock crawling on the southern end of the trail which is steep and off-camber. Several sections have very sharp, jagged rocks, so be sure to have a spare and jack with you. Overall, it is a very fun and beautiful trail.

Difficulty

Expect steep, off-camber rock crawls at the southern end of the trail. A spotter is not necessary but may come in handy if you don't want to leave some metal on the rocks.

You people are crazy if you think this is a 4. This is no 4. It’s a true 6. The trail is nuts!!

Trail is bumpy with some loose rock climbs and steep sections. High clearance recommended.

I started on the north end and travelled south. It was a bit muddy and snowy at the beginning, but it wasn’t too bad. The further south I got, the less mud I came across. The trail felt like more of a 4 than a 6. Nothing seems that technical, I never needed a spotter, and I never scraped the underside. Portions were annoyingly rough though. Next time I will start on the north and just go up to the radio towers.

There is an SUV stuck in a snow drift at the top. We were able to squeeze by and bust through the drift. The rest of the trail is mostly light snow.

Deep snow drift in a hidden spot. Recovery required about the middle of the trail.

Nice trails. Some spots were extremely rocky. Large rocks, kinda sketchy but I was fine.

It was a pretty easy quick Trail not to difficult just has some sharp rock sections that you have to be careful of so bring some good tires other then that was quite easy for a full size truck

This was a pretty fun trail with amazing views. We started on the north side by the radio towers and went south. Going north to south is probably the easiest way through it but if you’d like a challenge I’d start on the south end first. Very fun.
