Trail Overview

This really fun trail starts at Hardware Ranch and heads up past Old Ephraim's Grave up to Peter Sinks Rd. It eventually goes underneath Hwy 89 and drops into Garden City on Bear Lake. Be sure to grab a famous raspberry shake. There are tons of different off-chutes to this trail going in all directions--multiple options to get to the same destination.

Our first time exploring this area was the section from Kearl Pond to Randold Road. Road 7061 lacks a sign or marker on the Kearl Pond side, though it’s marked on maps as the Hardware Ranch to Bear Lake Trail. The trail appears wide enough for a Jeep at first, but it narrows significantly, making it challenging. On the Randold Road side, we did find a trail sign. This route is for ATVs, hiking, or horseback riding and is marked as 50” wide.

Warning, between 41.82242, -111.5028 and 41.80368, -111.50313 is an ATV trail and should not be traveled by any rigs above 50" Instead you should continue past the turn to 41.80423, -111.47125 where there is an intersection at log cabin hollow where if you are heading to bear lake, turn left and if you are heading to hardware ranch turn right. Attached is a screenshot showing the proper route for >50"

Do not take a heavy adventure bike unless you are prepared with a buddy, a Garmin, and to be thoroughly worn out and to potentially spend the night or hike out, which makes this dangerous for us heavy bike riders. Got so worn out I couldn’t pick up the bike alone.

Road definitely not maintained like it used to to be definitely would bright 4wd capable vehicles. But still a fun drive! Wish there were less cows though flys are horrible!
