French Hollow #027

French Hollow is a 5.4-mile-long single track that crosses the Willow Creek Single Track in the Uinta National Forest. It's a fun and narrow trail along a small creek through a drainage the whole way. The west end starts through sagebrush in a flat, wide-open valley. It has several big river crossings and some easier small crossings. It starts to go more into the pine trees on the east end. The trail is open from 6/1 through 10/31, but there is still potential for snow drifts covering the trail in late spring. As it gets into the pine trees, there is also more potential for downed logs and branches as well. This is a popular riding area near Salt Lake and downed logs usually get cut. The trail has sections of narrow side-hilling way high above the creek that is really cool but has a bit of exposure. There are also steep sections of climbing. There is a harder rock ledge section on a side hill that makes it intermediate difficulty. There are also troughed-out sections with embedded rocks and one cool rock slab section.
