Dude Ranch to Stone Henge

Dude Ranch to Stone Henge is an easy, beginner-friendly trail in the Abajo Mountains of southeastern Utah. The route begins on a paved surface before transitioning into a well-maintained dirt road, eventually branching off to the right onto a narrow, forested OHV trail that winds through pine and aspen stands. Navigating this trail is straightforward, with minimal elevation change and no major technical obstacles, making it accessible to stock high-clearance 4WD vehicles, OHVs, and ATVs alike. Along the trail, visitors should keep an eye out for a spacious, grassy clearing that serves as an excellent dispersed camping spot, complete with a unique Stonehenge-style rock fire pit and a rustic wigwam. Since the trail is located within the Manti-La Sal National Forest, it is shared with hikers, horseback riders, and campers. The route runs near Verdure Creek at an elevation of approximately 7,350 to 7,500 feet, offering cool mountain air and a refreshing break from the desert heat below.
