Trail Overview

A narrow, rocky, steep, and challenging trail down the side of the Comb Ridge. The easiest way to tackle the trail is north to south, descending the ridge, but heading up it would for sure be more difficult. At least by 2x. There are rocky steep ledges of Slickrock, off-camber sections, and loose gravel right below steep ledges. The views are amazing as you work your way through the obstacles and narrow sections. There is almost nowhere for oncoming traffic to go by unless they are on Moto. It's a fun, challenging trail with great views. Well worth the trip if you are in the area. As you head to the highway, there is a water crossing that can get very deep after a storm. It may be impassable when wet and incredibly hot in the summer and snow-covered in winter. No cellular service.

Several washouts meant some careful redirecting of the trail. Very limited traffic so far this season, so there were freshly fallen rocks that needed to be cleared from the trail.

We started this trail from the Arch Canyon overlook trail and descended into Combs wash before ascending the Dugway and finishing on the North end. Starting from the south heading North. The trail was in moderate condition after a night of heavy rain. Some washouts and as we descended into Combs wash we encountered a major washout that was managed to get by, but I think a four door Bronco or Wrangler would have had side clearance issues. After that we ascended the dugway and although there were washouts, we didn’t have much difficulty. We have 35’s and I imagine you would scrape quite a bit on 33’s. It is a fun trail and I recommend it.
