Difficulty
BLM 33B firmly and confidently earns a Level 3 Moderate technical rating due to its persistently soft surface and a few highly specific, high-consequence obstacles. Throughout the 3.2-mile transit, drivers must actively navigate sections of exceptionally deep, power-sapping red sand that constantly threatens to severely bog down forward momentum. More importantly, the trail features a couple of notably steep, distinctively punchy hill climbs characterized by deeply rutted, heavily off-camber tracks. Successfully conquering these uneven, shifting sandy ascents absolutely requires a high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle. Drastically lowering your tire air pressures before hitting the trail is strictly mandatory to significantly maximize your essential flotation, vastly improve traction, and safely maintain control over the demanding, punchy climbs.
