Trail Overview

Big Bend is a short but beautiful trail that takes you through the dense Sumter National Forest. It provides multiple access points to the Big Bend trail system, which crosses over Crane Creek and leads to the wild and scenic Chattooga River, offering world-class trout fishing and endless hiking. This trail is single track with a few places to turn around or pass. At the end, there is a large campsite with a fire ring and a closed road beyond that provides a .5-mile hike down to the river. There is very little cell service (AT&T), so plan accordingly.
