Trail Overview
Turkey Flats Road - A trail of Rock Run Recreation Area. Located on the Northern End of the park, Turkey Flats Road should be able to be traversed by anyone on a motorcycle, ATV, or SxS. It is 2.1 miles in length and was built as part of the second phase of the park. Turkey Flats Road is a large loop trail beginning and ending at Brown’s Play Pond. It feels that this trail is relatively flat, but there is some change in elevation in several locations. There are a few intersecting trails with Turkey Flats, such as Grouse Drive, Oak Lane, Big Buck Trail, Pine Lane, Gobbler Ridge, and Terrace View Road, offering you different options. The majority of Turkey Flats Road is wider, offering ample room to pass other vehicles. It offers some views of the surrounding valleys in a few areas. You will encounter some rutted areas and mostly embedded rocks, but there is at least one section of loose rocks. There are a few locations of mud holes, but they are easily bypassed. This trail is open to bikes, ATVs, and SxSs. This is a two-way trail and offers a different experience riding it both directions. Trail driven and documented in August 2025.
Difficulty
You will encounter some obstacles under 12 inches, potential uneven terrain, and/or loose rocks. This trail is one vehicle wide with locations to pass.
