Trail Overview
Trail 5E - A trail of the Rock Run Recreation Area. Trail 5E is an original trail to the park. At just over 3/10ths of a mile, Trail 5E starts at Inner Loop East at the lower end and ends at Mark’s Way on the upper end. Trail 5E crosses Clayworks Drive near Turbine 8. Trail 5E should be able to be traversed by most any rider on a motorcycle, ATV, or SxS with a little skill. It is a variety of both embedded and loose rock, along with some potential rutting and changing conditions due to water runoff. The windmill construction project impacted this trail and rerouted a section of it in the fall of 2025. It is a wider trail with a few places to pass. It serves as the most direct route from the lower parking area to a number of trails in the Southeast of the facility. This trail is open to bikes, ATVs, and SxSs. This is a two-way trail and offers a different experience riding it both directions. Trail driven and documented in January 2026.
Difficulty
This is an easier dirt trail with some uneven and rutted sections. You will encounter some standing water in locations, loose rocks, and obstacles under 12 inches. This trail is one vehicle wide with locations to pass.
