Trail Overview

Three Springs Road is a short but scenic gravel route winding through the eastern edge of Michaux State Forest along the South Mountain ridge. While not long on its own, it’s best considered an extension of High Rock Road, together covering the entire eastern side of South Mountain within the forest. Perfect for a leisurely drive or linking together a longer overland route. Three Springs Road offers a peaceful slice of Michaux’s rugged landscape and connects you deeper into the forest’s network of trails.

Difficulty

Rated a 2 in difficulty as the road is generally passable in good weather and safe for most 4WD and high-clearance 2WD vehicles. Winter maintenance is not provided.

In about 6” of snow, probably goes from a 2 to a 3. Beautiful scenery with the snow on the trees
