Trail Overview
Single Track S – A trail of Rock Run Recreation Area. Single Track S starts at the Outer Loop and Single Track R, and then ends at Coal Haul Road near the Outer Loop. This section travels through an area of open woods. You will encounter a rutted trail with loose rocks, tight trees, and other obstacles. There is a short, steep change in elevation through this section with various-sized loose rocks and a wet area of trail. The end at Coal Haul Road will change as this is a drainage area and currently is very rough with various-sized rocks and a short steep grade entering the trail intersection, which may pose a challenge with having enough momentum to get up the loose grade and still stop at the intersection. Single Track S1 does provide an opportunity to miss this end section of Single Trail S. There may be areas with overgrown vegetation and some standing water in locations. This section of trail is only a few hundred yards in length and is part of the larger network of the park. Trail rode and documented in June 2026.
Difficulty
This trail is a single track. Expect erosion, loose rocks, washes, and large rocks on a short, steep grade.
