Trail Overview

Sand Road is a trail through the Tioga State Forest off of Norris Brook Road. The trail is mostly dirt and gravel and offers little technical difficulty. However, after snow melt or steady rain, the trail becomes very muddy and rutted. The surrounding streams and tributaries can make for very soft ground during spring, so keep an eye out for downed trees. It would not be a bad idea to carry a chainsaw through this forest. There is no winter maintenance, and a lot of tree coverage. Any snow and ice accumulation will likely remain on the trail through most of the winter.
