Trail Overview

Laurel Run Road is a smooth and wide gravel road through Moshannon State Forest, serving as a connector between Tyler Road and Harley Dam Road, and providing access to Laurel Ridge Road. Along the way are access points to a number of streams and non-motorized use trails. There is a power line that intersects near the north end (Tyler Road) of the route, which is also where the road crosses Little Laurel Run, and is a great location to spot wildlife such as Deer, birds, and even Elk. A short section near the Laruel Ridge Road intersection borders a large hunting club, which is private property. This road is a beautiful drive any time of the year. The majority of the road is single lane with some shoulder, but there are several areas where it would be comfortable to pass. Expect there is no winter maintenance, and navigate with caution if snow or ice is present.
