Trail Overview

Note: this route was only recorded in reverse (on the descent) it is an out-and-back route, there is a gate at the top. To my knowledge, you could continue exploring past the gate on foot or bicycle as this is all PA State Game Lands. The payoff at the top is that there is an abandoned fire tower outpost at the top! The building is very well preserved on the outside but please ONLY LOOK - do not enter as the conditions inside appear very unsafe! The tower is gone.

Difficulty

I made it up this in a front-wheel drive car, though it was quite steep and loose in several places. There are some puddles towards the top and the potential for washouts after heavy rain is high.

Sign indicating in June of 2024 the passage is permanently closed to all traffic outside of antenna maintenance. Further indication of no private vehicles allowed past gate.

Pretty steep so it would be a little sketchy if it was very snowed in or muddy. Shallow ruts at the top but overall a pretty laid back trail.
