Trail Overview

This is a standard state forest road. It runs east-to-west and connects Three Runs Road in Moshannon State Forest to Keating Karthaus Road in Sproul State Forest. It provides access to Jerry Ridge Road and Round Island Road, along with several hiking trails in Sproul State Forest and several tracts of private land on the eastern end. It's an easy and scenic drive. As with most of Sproul State Forest, it is fairly remote- cell service is spotty at best, and there are few places to provision. Plan accordingly. As with many forest roads in Sproul State Forest, this one passes through a cut in the forest for power lines. The power line trails are intended for utility company use and are not part of the inventory of forest roads for public use in the forest.
