Trail Overview
Big Buck Trail - A trail of Rock Run Recreation Area. Located on the Northern End of the park, Big Buck Trail should be able to be traversed by anyone on a motorcycle, ATV, or SxS with a little skill. It is a mile in length and was built as part of the second phase of the park. Named after some of the monster Bucks in the area, Big Buck Trail offers a variety of terrain. One end of Big Buck Trail starts on Terrace View Road, and the other end is at Turkey Flats Road. There is one intersecting trail along the length of Big Buck, which will allow you to climb a steep grade back to Turkey Flats Road or lesser of a grade descent to Rouges Harbor Road. It is mostly narrow and both in the woods and open areas. It offers some views of the surrounding valley in a few locations. You will encounter some rutted areas and mostly embedded rocks, but there are always changing conditions and loose rocks. There are also frequent changes in elevation with the trail traveling up and down the hillside in multiple locations, with a few sections of steep. This trail is open to bikes, ATVs, and SxSs. This is a two-way trail and offers a different experience riding it both directions. Trail driven and documented in August 2025
