Ashland 142 is a cul-de-sac trail, yet it offers a delightful gravel path that meanders through an open area dotted with small rocks. The trail boasts open spaces and scenic views, particularly striking in the autumn. The majority of Ashland 142 traces the history of coal mining in the region, serving as a former roadway for miners. There is a berm at the end of this trail with a go-around that connects to Trail 89, but that is as far as you can go.
