Trail Overview

This trail is every off-roader's dream. It has a small piece of every obstacle in the book. For example, flexing, water, medium-sized mud holes, optional hill climbs, and just enough ravines and washouts to get your friend with smaller tires in some trouble. There is no service in this area, and it's very rural. So I'd recommend having a friend tag along. This trail is suitable for almost any high-clearance 4x4 with 33s or bigger. But make sure you are confident in your break-over/departure angle, as there are quite a few deep ruts that could cause damage. At the start, you make your way through a long creek bed, then slowly start to see some elevation and washouts, eventually ending at endless hill climbs that will put any size rig to the test. There are areas to turn around throughout.

Difficulty

Expect 3ft washouts, lots of off-camber sections that can/will lift tires, along with deep ruts. If you take your time and pick good lines and/or have a spotter, most jeeps/built overlanders will be fine. The mud holes have a solid floor. Watch your diff and shock mounts as there can be big exposed rocks. You will need to air down for this trail if it's wet. Mud/trail can be very sloppy when wet. This trail connects to lots of other trails, but it depends on your capability and guts.

We came up part of Lady Run Rd and were going to head down the trail from there where Lady Run heads down to the left, but there were posted no trespassing signs that our ride organizer said were new to him. We decided not to head that way due to the signs. We turned around and came back down Lady Run Rd instead.

We ran this going north from pavement to Lady Run Rd. It's easy most of the way but things escalate quickly at the end when you get to the power line hill. There are three ways to climb the hill. The main path in the middle has a 4-5 ft step. The one to the left has massive ruts. The one to the right is the easiest. It's steep with loose rocks, and there are some small steps to navigate. Lockers definitely make things easier here. But those in our group without lockers gave it a good bump and made it up fine. There is plenty of room to turn around if you don't want to go up. For reference, our group had an XJ on 31's with a 4 in lift, a 2-dr Wrangler on 33's with similar lift, a 4-dr Wrangler with 37's and no lift, and a stock 4-dr Rubicon.

If you plan on doing the hill climb at the end don't go solo will need a spotter. There is space to turn around at the bottom of the hill.

The top of powerline hill is completely washed out. The bypass was easy to get up, but the top has major ruts that there is no way around. 3ft wide, 2ft deep. They put you on camber and depending how you hit, teedering with power line Hill dropping off to the right side. The trail at the top headed north has washed out exposing about a 2ft rock ledge you can't get around, must go over. If you don't have lockers, most likely not making it, and trust me, you don't want to try to turn around on top of power line.

It is easy if you enter off of the asphalt Road and not Lady run Road turn around before it goes up the power line hill.
