Trail Overview
This short connector trail provides access to cross New York State Route 26, where riders can use the designated on-road ATV route to connect with other sections of the Lewis County Trail System. The trail primarily serves as a link between riding areas and offers an easy transition to the county’s approved pavement route. The trail is wide enough to safely pull over when encountering oncoming traffic. A valid Lewis County OHV permit is required to travel this trail. Riders must also follow all applicable Lewis County and New York State ATV regulations while operating on the designated roadway once crossing the highway.
Difficulty
While traveling this route, riders can expect a primarily gravel and stone surface with occasional water holes and puddles, especially after recent rainfall. Riders should also be aware that the bridge along this route is only wide enough for a single vehicle at a time. Use caution, yield to oncoming traffic as needed, and cross the bridge slowly.
