Steve Russell Hill Road

This small connecting road leads from Route 11 to the eastern side of Hoxie Gorge State Forest. Starting from Route 11, you'll encounter a tight, seasonal road beside an active stream, passing under I-81. The trail head features a 2-track trail. The initial section is the most challenging, with minor washouts, transitioning into a smoother, minimally maintained road. Expect rocks up to 4" with shallow puddles. Most AWD vehicles should be able to handle this road. There are streams along the route, but they are on private property. The trail ends in Hoxie Gorge State Forest. From there, you can turn left onto a well-maintained gravel road that leads to a scenic dead end within the state forest.
