Trail Overview
This easy gravel road winds through the Rattlesnake Hill Wildlife Management Area, gradually descending into a dense forest before climbing back up through more open terrain. Along the way, you'll find several pull-offs and smaller roads that provide access to the area's hiking trail network. The changing scenery, from thick woods to open meadows, makes this a pleasant drive through one of Western New York's scenic wildlife areas.
Wildlife sightings are common here, with opportunities to see everything from deer to coyotes. During our drive, we spotted a coyote crossing the road. Near the end of the route is a large staging area where horseback riders often park with horse trailers before heading out to explore the extensive trail system.
Difficulty
This trail is rated 1/10 due to the smooth gravel surface and lack of technical obstacles. It is suitable for nearly any vehicle and is an excellent route for enjoying the scenery, wildlife, and recreational opportunities within the wildlife management area.
