Trail Overview

Step back in time as this scenic two-track trail follows a pine-lined corridor into the tug hill forest. Along the route, remnants of the area's past can be found in the form of old stacked stone walls that quietly mark the landscape. The route is generally easy to follow, but be prepared for occasional downed trees and fallen limbs, particularly after storms. Continue to the end of the passable road where a suitable turnaround area is available.

History

An old road section extends beyond the turnaround that eventually turns into a hiking path leading to the site of a long-forgotten settlement. Here, explorers can discover stone foundations, bridge remnants, and other traces of the community that once occupied this secluded corner of the forest. Please use caution when exploring these historic features and help preserve them for future visitors.
